Capitol Police Chief Calls January 6 Protest A ‘Cover-Up’

Former U.S. Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund described events surrounding the January 6 protests as a cover-up, adding that he was not given the intelligence that would have allowed him to do his job.

Sund made the revelation to then-Fox News host Tucker Carlson in unaired footage published exclusively by The National Pulse. Tucker was, however, fired before Fox News could air the interview.

“Everything appears to be a cover up,” Sund said.

The former Capitol Police Chief revealed that everything at his department was politicized because he reported to politicians. Sund accused former House Speaker Rep.Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley of withholding intelligence that could have helped him do his job.

“Like I said, I’m not a conspiracy theorist,” Sund said, “but when you look at the information and intelligence they had, the military had, it’s all watered down. I’m not getting intelligence, I’m denied any support from National Guard in advance. I’m denied National Guard while we’re under attack, for 71 minutes.”

Sund maintained that if he had been allowed to do his job with the necessary intelligence, none of the events of January 6 would have occurred.

When Carlson suggested that the intelligence was hidden from Sund, the former police chief accused Pelosi of wanting something to happen.

“So you describe this as a failure to get the intelligence to people who needed it, but it sounds like worse than. It sounds like they were hiding some intelligence,” Carlson said

“Could there possibly be actually… They kind of wanted something to happen?” Sund responded. “It’s not a far stretch to begin to think that. It’s sad when you start putting everything together and thinking about the way this played out… What was their end goal?”

Carlson previously acknowledged the existence of the interview last month while speaking with actor Russell Brand. Carlson told Brand that Sound confirmed the presence of several federal agents among the crowd.

“I was fired before it could air,” Carlson told Brand of the interview. “I’m going to interview him (Sund) again. But Steven Sund was the totally non-political, worked for Nancy Pelosi — this was not some right-wing activist. He was the chief of the Capitol Police on January 6. And he said, oh yeah, yeah, yeah — that crowd was filled with federal agents.”
