Drew Barrymore Cries Over Adam Sandler ‘The Wedding Singer’

Actress and film producer Drew Barrymore took to social media on Wednesday to share an emotional video of her rewatching the rom-com “The Wedding Singer”.

The rom-com which was released in 1998 and also stars American actor Adam Sandler is the first of the romantic comedies both actors have starred in together.

I love you so much @adamsandler. The Wedding Singer came on my TV as I was getting ready to leave the house and I had to take in this moment and watch it,” Drew Barrymore captioned her Instagram post.

According to E! news, Drew Barrymore was supposed to be heading to a yoga class that same day when she stumbled across the rom-com playing on TV. In the video, the actress was visibly tearing up and saying “We made such a good movie, I love you so much, Happy New Year. What year is it that we met in the newsroom? 1922?”

Sandler, who is well known for his comedic act, reacted in the comments section by writing “Love you always Drew. Happy new year”

Barrymore shared a clip of the movie, showing her character, Julia Sullivan, getting serenaded by Sandler’s Robbie Hart. Sandler’s character was singing “I Wanna Grow Old With You.” to Barrymore’s character.

Sandler and Barrymore appeared on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” in 2014. Both movie stars had planned to sing “Every 10 Years” but Sandlers went off script and began singing some lyrics from the movie’s song. Sandler’s antics brought Barrymore to tears once more.

“The Wedding Singer” was the pair’s first film together. They reunited in 2004 for the rom-com “50 First Dates,” and again in 2014 for the comedy film “Blended.” Over the years, fans have described the on-screen chemistry between the pair as electric and fascinating. This has resulted in successful box office hits and positive reviews.
