Driver Rams Into Joe Biden Motorcade

Secret Service agents rushed President Joe Biden after fears that the president’s motorcade was being attacked.

Joe Biden’s motorcade was outside of his Delaware campaign headquarters on Sunday night when a silver sedan smashed into a black SUV belonging to the U.S. Secret Service. The president was heading to his vehicle when the crash occurred.

According to the Daily Caller News Foundation, reporters were outside the campaign headquarters waiting for the president and first lady Jill Biden to leave.

In one video of the incident, the president can be seen heading towards his vehicle when one person off-camera shouted a question at the president.

“Mr President, why are you losing to Trump in the Polls,” the individual asked.

Biden turned and shouted something inaudible at the individual before continuing to his vehicle. A loud crash can be heard just before the president gets to the vehicle, forcing Secret Service agents to rush the president into the car.

The video moved back to the crash scene, showing multiple Secret Service agents surrounding the white Sedan with their guns drawn and demanding the driver show his hands.

According to reports, the Secret Service SUV was being used to close off the intersections near the headquarters prior to the president’s departure. The first lady was already in the vehicle before the crash occurred.

Secret Service spokesperson Steve Kopek later confirmed news of the incident in a statement.

“Today, at approximately 8:09 p.m., a Secret Service vehicle securing the President’s motorcade route was struck by another vehicle in Wilmington, DE. There was no protective interest associated with this event and the President’s motorcade departed without incident,” Kopek said.

Kopek told CNN that the crash was not intentional and that it had been raining heavily in the area just before the accident.
