Florida Murder-Suicide: Woman Shoot Two Children Before Killing Herself

Tragedy struck a family in Florida after one woman allegedly killed her two children before turning the gun on herself.
According to Breitbart News, Brandy Hutchins shot and killed her ten-year-old son, Aiden, and her 19-year-old daughter after she lost custody of her son to his father. A judge had just ordered Hutchins to surrender her son to his father, who lived in Maine.

Reports from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office showed that Hutchins was supposed to turn her son over to his father by 6 p.m. Friday. Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd revealed that deputies were dispatched to locate Hutchins and her son when the sheriff’s office learned that she had violated the court order.
After working through the weekend to find him, the deputies located the boy’s body, along with his mother’s and sister’s.
According to Judd, preliminary investigations from the sheriffs found that Hutchins murdered her 10-year-old child and her 19-year-old daughter before turning the gun on herself. Hutchins’ 19-year-old daughter had a different father and was not involved in the custody battle.
“I can’t imagine a more horrific set of circumstances,” Judd said.
The sheriff said that his office deals with many court orders, but they rarely end in such a devastating way. Judd, however, revealed that Hutchins had no previous signs of violence.
“My heart breaks for all of the family,” Judd said. “We’re devastated for this beautiful 10-year-old child — all because mom did not want to turn the child over to the rightful father pursuant to a court order.”

The boy’s father, Hutchins Race, shared his pain and devastation on Facebook while adding that his son did not “deserve” to be killed.

“It is with a heavy heart that I am writing this to give everyone an update about my son Aiden Hutchins, who was missing and taken by his mother on August 25, 2023, who decided to murder him,” Race wrote. “He was killed by her today, August 27, 2023. He will forever be in my heart and did not deserve this. Rest in peace, my sweet boy. I will see you again. I love you.
