GOP Rep Reveals Why Hamas Did Not Release American Hostages

Rep. Pat Fallon (R-TX) on Friday maintained that President Joe Biden does not deserve credit for Hamas releasing the hostages it took on Oct. 7 because the president played no role in the negotiation.

Hamas released 13 Israeli women and children hostages to Israel on Friday night. The terror group also released 12 Thai hostages and one Filipino hostage following an agreement that saw both warring parties agree to a 4-day humanitarian pause. However, Hamas did not free any of the American hostages it took during the Oct. 7 attack.

The White House claimed that Biden played a critical role in negotiating the hostage release deal between Israel and Hamas. Rep. Fallon, however, maintains that any claim that the president played a crucial role in the hostage deal is false.

Fallon, while speaking on Friday night’s broadcast of “Cavuto: Coast to Coast” on Fox Business Network, argued that Hamas would have released American hostages if President Biden had played a crucial role in the negotiations.

“I think it’s absolutely because Israel exerted so much pressure that Hamas was willing to take a break. And of course, they got 150 Palestinian prisoners from Israel as well. So, they got that and they got the pause that they needed. Biden, you know what they say, even small successes like this have a thousand fathers and defeat’s an orphan. If Joe Biden was so crucial, why aren’t any Americans being freed right now? I think that’s very telling.”

Biden, during a Friday press conference, admitted that he does not know when Hamas will release the American hostages it is holding. The president also admitted to not knowing the conditions of Americans who are unaccounted for.

“We don’t know when that will occur but we expect it to occur,” Biden said when asked about the release of American Hostages. “We don’t know what the list of all the hostages are and when they will be released. But we know that numbers are going to be released. It is mu hope and expectation that it will be soon.”
