Man Stabbed After Wishing Attackers Happy New Year

A man’s New Year got off to a terrible start after he got stabbed in the neck while walking on a Bronx subway platform.

According to The New York Post, the victim —identified as a 29-year-old man— had just wished his attackers a happy New Year. Police said the victim and his attacker, who authorities said were a group of four men, began arguing.

The four men pounced on him and began beating him, before one of them brought out a sharp object and stabbed the victim multiple times all over his body, including the neck.

Authorities said the victim was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Police later upgraded the victim’s condition to serious but stable.

Police on Wednesday released images of the four suspected attackers, who authorities said fled the scene on foot. Authorities added that all of the suspects appeared to be about 5-foot-8.

Authorities said one of the suspects was last seen wearing a black jacket with a red hoodie. He was described as having braided hair and a slim build, with a medium complexion.

Police said a second suspect wore braided hair and a slim build, with a medium complexion. Authorities said he was dark in complexion and was last seen wearing a black jacket with a gray hoodie, black and gray sneakers and black pants.

The third suspect has long hair and a dark complexion and was last seen wearing red and black checkerboard-style pants, and a red and black jacket with multi-colored designs.
