McCarthy Says Trump’s Indictment A Distraction From Biden Investigation
House Speaker Rep. Kelvin McCarthy (R-CA) described the latest indictment against President Joe Biden as an attempt to distract from GOP-led House investigations into the Biden family’s corrupt practices.
McCarthy took to his Twitter account on Tuesday to call out the double standard within the DOJ while noting that the latest indictment comes after President Joe Biden was implicated in his son’s illicit foreign businesses.
We’ve recently learned:
• Hunter received money from China (contradicting President Biden’s claim)
• President Biden spoke with Hunter’s business associates over 20 times (contradicting what Biden previously claimed)
• Biden’s DOJ tried to secretly give Hunter broad immunity…

“We’ve recently learned: Hunter received money from China (contradicting President Biden’s claim); President Biden spoke with Hunter’s business associates over 20 times (contradicting what Biden previously claimed); Biden’s DOJ tried to secretly give Hunter broad immunity and admitted the sweetheart deal was unprecedented And just yesterday a new poll showed President Trump is without a doubt Biden’s leading political opponent,” McCarthy wrote on his Twitter account. Everyone in America could see what was going to come next: DOJ’s attempt to distract from the news and attack the frontrunner for the Republican nomination, President Trump. House Republicans will continue to uncover the truth about Biden Inc. and the two-tiered system of justice.”
Fox News Jesse Watters backed up McCarthy’s claim during Tuesday’s episode of “Jesse Watters Primetime” monologue. Watters maintained that the timing of Trump’s indictment was designed to take the heat off President Biden.
Watters noted that Trump’s first indictment came on March 18, one day after Hunter Biden admitted that the laptop from hell was his. Another Trump indictment came on June 9, one day after an FBI file alleging that Joe and Hunter Biden accepted a $10 million bribe from a Ukrainian oligarch.
Watters also pointed out that the former president’s latest indictment comes one day after Devon Archer — one of Hunter’s closest business associates— implicated Joe Biden in his son’s illicit foreign businesses and influence peddling.
“This isn’t a coincidence,” Watters said. “Anytime Biden is in trouble, Trump pays for it and the news circle flips.”
Trump’s latest indictment comes following Special Counsel Jack Smith’s investigation into the former president’s alleged attempts to overturn the 2020 presidential election. The indictment charged Trump with Obstruction of and Attempt to Obstruct an Official Proceeding, Conspiracy to Obstruct an Official Proceeding, Conspiracy to Defraud the United States, and Conspiracy Against Rights.
