President Joe Biden Gets Another Democrat Challenger

President Joe Biden’s re-election took a significant hit on Thursday when Jill Stein announced on social media that she would be running for office again in 2023.

Stein, who ran in the 2016 presidential election, announced she would be running again in 2024 due to the country’s current state of affairs.

“People are tired of being thrown under the bus by wealthy elites and politicians,” Stein said. “[People are] tired of living paycheck to paycheck, struggling to pay the rent, locked in student debt and medical debt, child poverty doubling, rising diseases of despair [and] growing hopelessness. The political system is broken. The two Wall Street parties are bought and paid for. Over 60 percent of us now say the bipartisan establishments failed us, and we need a party that serves the people. I’m Jill Stein, and I’m running for president to offer that choice for the people outside of the failed two-party system.”

Stein, who plans to run on a platform different from the two major parties, highlighted the crises currently besieging the county while promising that her campaign will put the solutions to those crises “front and center in the next election and on the ballot across the country. Stein blasted the two main companies, accusing them of getting the country into those crises.

“The ruling parties that got us into this mess aren’t getting us out,” she said. “Both parties are squandering trillions on the endless war machine, fueling conflict around the world while tens of millions here at home lack food, housing and health care. Democrats have betrayed their promises for working people, youth, and the climate again and again, while Republicans don’t even make such promises in the first place. Both parties are a danger to our democracy, expanding censorship, criminalizing protests, throwing competitors off the ballots, suppressing debates [and] rigging their primaries. Change won’t come from the ruling elites. It comes from we the people.”

Stein’s run could deal a significant blow to Biden’s re-election bid as experts believe her run would only serve to draw voters away from the president come 2024. There are also concerns that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Cornel West could deal the same blow to Joe Biden’s re-election chances, with Kenedy running as an Independent.
