Rapper 6ix9ine Arrested In Dominican Republic Over Domestic Violence

Authorities in the Dominican Republic have arrested rapper 6ix9ine on allegations of domestic violence.

American rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine, whose real name is Daniel Hernández, was taken into custody on Jan. 17 and kept in a jail in the Dominican Republic.

The rapper was taken to court on Thursday in the Dominican Republic, with his bail yet to be decided by a judge.

According to TMZ, the rapper reportedly assaulted his girlfriend, Yailin la Más Viral. The outlet claims that he was arrested for physical and psychological violence against his girlfriend.

According to multiple reports, this is not the first time 6ix9ine has been arrested in the Dominican Republic. He was taken into custody in October 2023 following accusations that he assaulted a music producer in a Dominican studio in which Yailin was recording at the time. The current status of that case is unclear.

In 2018, he was sentenced to four years probation after pleading guilty to using a child in an inappropriate performance. The rapper has previously been accused in the United States of belonging to a violent gang as a personal hit squad.

He escaped prison by turning state’s witness against some of his fellow gang members. 6ix9ine was also accused of hiring a gunman to shoot hip-hop musician Chief Keef in 2018 for $20,000.

Last year, he was forced to sell millions in personal belongings and asset liquidation to cover a $10 million judgment to a stripper who reported that he beat her with a champagne bottle.

In March 2023, the rapper was attacked by a group of men in a Florida L.A. Fitness establishment. Three men were later arrested in connection to the incident.

According to People Magazine, 6ix9ine was arrested in Palm Beach, Florida, in August 2023 after failing to appear in court. He had previously been issued three traffic citations, and when he did not make a court date scheduled for July, a judge issued a warrant for his arrest.
