Trump Says He Did Not Share Classified Documents
Former President Donald Trump said in an interview with Fox News this week that he did not show classified documents to any other people. He also framed the accusations that he held classified documents instead of his own personal records.
Fox host Bret Baier asked the former president in an in-person interview about allegations that he mishandled classified material.
Trump responded that the photos of boxes released by the Department of Justice (DOJ) were of “newspaper stories, magazine stories and articles,” he said.
When asked about an alleged recording in which he told a person that he could have classified documents, but did not, Trump said that he could not do it at the date of the recording in 2021 because he was no longer president.
“There was nothing to declassify,” he said.
“When I said that I couldn’t declassify it now, that’s because I wasn’t president. I never made any bones about that. When I’m not president, I can’t declassify,” he said.
“But that wasn’t a document. Bret, there was no document.,” Trump said. “That was a massive amount of papers and everything else, talking about Iran and other things.”
“And it may have been held up or it may not,” the former president continued. “But that was not a document. I didn’t have a document per se.”
Trump further said that he was not in possession of a draft war plan against another country “that I know of.”
“But everything was declassified,” he said.
🚨Donald Trump throws shade at Fox News:
BAIER: “More independent voters watch Fox News than any other TV source.”
TRUMP: “A lot less than they used to watch it.”
BAIER: “They do watch.”

During the interview, the former president intimated that the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) was a “radical left group.”
“They could be stuffing it,” he said. “I don’t know what they put in there.”
Trump added that members of the National Archives “wouldn’t let anybody in the room.”
The former president also said that he desired to go through the boxes found at his Mar-a-Lago estate “and get all my personal things out.”
He said that some of the boxes included clothes and “all sorts of personal items in there. Much, much stuff.”
